Wired For Sound

Or not.

I had aspirations of putting a radio.blog on the right-hand sidebar. But after ages trying to figure out why all the tracks I included would only sit on “Preloading Track” forever and a day, I found a forum post that suggested IIS was probably not configured to serve the Shockwave music files, with the .rbs extension, that are generated.

I confirmed this when I got a 404 by trying to browse to one of these files directly.

Ahhh, Brinkster. You’ve bested me again. Or have you? It seems others have had success.

You’ll know the result if one day you arrive and see my glorious and savvy playlist.

The Amazing Race: Birthday Edition

I did something special for Kel’s birthday last weekend. She had herself her very own Amazing Race tailored to suit her interests. With yields, detours and road blocks. The final pit stop was Jonah’s which was an incredible dining experience. I recommend it if you are headed to Palm Beach.

I’m sure if CBS was aware of what I was doing, I would have been handed a cease and desist by Phil himself. However, it all ran pretty smoothly.

The design part comes where I made up these envelopes (shown below) to contain each clue. Just like in the show, they had a perforated strip (which I had to buy a special attachment to my roller-cutter for) reinforced with sticky-tape and all sealed up using my hot glue gun. I only did just enough for the day because Kinkos is such a rip. So I wasn’t sure how authentic they would end up being. The answer was very and I’m told, just as fun to open as it looks on TV.

I’ve also uploaded semi-decent resolution copies of the road block and detour cards.

Ultimate Alliance

Awesome

Cinematic

I hope my lappy is still powerful enough to run this when it finally comes out.

If not, its still easy the coolest intro cinematic I have seen.
