Funspastic
Jul 28th
Not my term, but a play on the name of Australian Toy distributor Funtastic that I happen to hear a lot.
I usually don’t vent my spleen with such petty name calling… much… but I just heard that they have declined to import yet another series of figures that were on my wish list. The Marvel Legends Face-Offs. Leaving me without any recourse other than eBay for that Hulk\Leader twin pack.
I know on some level it’s just business but it’s the same approach to business that used to have me importing DVDs before the ones released in this country got up to the standard of their overseas counterparts.
But I digress. On the topic of figures that I will never get. SDCC was on last weekend and ToyBiz put on show all the Marvel Legends they won’t be making due to rising petroleum costs and losing the Marvel license to Hasbro.
MSI Logs

To get a blow by blow of an msi install, on the command line use…
It didn’t help in my case, but I can see it being handy in the future.
TiVo Channel Logos
Jul 25th
I have a TiVo.
I have a TiVo because I have very generous friends and because the OzTiVo community exists to make it possible to have a functional TiVo in this country.
I’ve recently been able to create some logos for the free-to-air channels I receive. I like doing little things like that. With the Tivo Web that is built in to the OzTiVo images all I had to do was browse to the menu page and import them. Here they are.

They show up next to items in “Now Playing” and also on with the info on Live TV.
Creating them was not all that difficult once I discovered Aerialplug’s How To and based them on his empty PNGs with the correct palettes already set.
Looks swish.
