Custom Layout 2

I’ve been saving this update for a while. (Read: too lazy/busy/sick to post it.)

This is my current theme for Mamewah for which I shamelessly just converted (and tinted) the imagery from the awesome “retroGUI” theme done by nexus6 for MaLa.

Since I wasn’t using MaLa as a frontend and wanted the resolution a bit higher it was my only option. I got a bit bored with my last effort and just couldn’t find any Mamewah skins as stylish as this. I particularly love the vector-look console outlines for each different platform.

The sound files were also poached from Kyle Lindstrom’s CPViewer site. The frame rate sucks a little on the video because CamStudio was running, but you still get the idea.

I’ve been sick lately. But I’m hopefully crawling back to health…slowly. In the meantime, this is cool. Something, that was probably obvious given their product name but still, its such a great way to browse photos and works even better in the dedicated browser plugin.

I just have to find some time to upload more photos.

Custom Layout

Still incredibly busy with work and it looks like my CPU will be pegged well into September. *sigh*

Custom Layout

However, I have still managed some non-work related activities. Aside from going to see the Incredible Hulk, the Dark Knight and the new X-Files movie, and as well as catching up completely on Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica and Lost, I produced a custom layout for the old MAME cab project (shown left).

I suppose I should mention that I changed tack with this project recently. I was always under the impression that operating under DOS would produce better performance with this thing. So I had a copy of DOS MAME and loaded everything with ArcadeOS as a menu. I had old DOS compatible graphics and sound cards and it worked ok even if only in certain resolutions, but I wasn’t 100% happy.
